Take roll. This interesting class is only 50 minutes long. Today they are to take out one or two sheets of paper, a pen or pencil, and their "Chess Principles Tickets". Their assignment is to write the rough draft of another 200-300-word five (or six) paragraph essay. People who have lost their tickets must share with another. They should choose three (or four) chess principles they used last week (or should have used last week!) and are learning to use. They should write everything they know about each principle they chose. They should NOT choose the same principles they wrote about last time. If they don't finish, have them turn in their papers anyway. Collect them all about 1:48, checking to ensure each has put her/his name on the paper. |

Set timer: at 1345 TSW stop games and return all pieces to their pouches, roll up boards, and return sets to teacher's desk (one student will oversee that all sets are returned). All desks must be returned to front-facing position and all books, clothing, etc., picked up before dismissal at 1350. |
