This matches perfectly with the referenced family in the 1850 census, recorded as follows: Minerva, 39, head; and Ruth Ann, 21, daughter; Elijah, however, does not appear and is presumed deceased.

John M. must be the third male, possibly 39 YOA, and the four children could be, say, ages 17, 18, 19, and 20, John perhaps having been widowed at or after the birth of their fourth or fifth child.
